So back in November Adam and Lizzie got married and I was the lucky photographer Adam is an awesome photographer like myself and owns Amped Photography here in Utah. He took my full day wedding workshop last May. Some of you will remember when he proposed to Lizzie and their engagements. Their wedding was held in Lizzie’s grandparents home in Salt Lake City Utah and it was an absolutely breathtaking home. It was very elegant and I felt as if I was walking an art museum with all of the pillars and beautiful art hanging on the walls, not to mention hand painted murals. Grand spiral staircases and beautiful stone. Lizzie’s dress was from my absolute favorite bridal dress boutique in Utah, Alta Moda. The dress was a surprise to Adam, and due to timing, we had to do their formals before the ceremony, so I was able to capture the first look when Adam saw her in it for the first time Those photos are 7, 8, 9, and 10 below. After the ceremony, their reception was held immediately after at Epic Casual Dining. Special thanks to my wife Tiffany for coming along to help out and to Heidi Walker of Heidi J Photography for coming to second shoot, I can’t wait to see the images Heidi got. I apologize about the massive amount of pictures here, but they were all so beautiful I couldn’t resist sharing

Some of you may have missed my announcement on Facebook, but I will be hosting another Full Day Wedding Workshop in Layton on 2/20/2010. This is my first workshop of the year and seats are limited to 6 people. There are still a few seats available.
This workshop is geared towards those just starting up their businesses and those who struggle with nailing down a fast workflow. It’s an all day workshop and meals are provided. We also do a live shoot in the afternoon and then come back to go over workflow.
MOST importantly, half of the workshop profits will be donated towards my marathon fundraising goal that funds the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
You can see more info and register at www.dustinizattworkshops.com Let me know if you have any questions, I’m so excited to see some of you there.
February 1, 2010 - 5:23 pmRachael Gapinski - I absolutely love this photo Dustin
February 5, 2010 - 10:18 pmPaige Davis - I am so sad that we'll be out of town! I would LOVE to come to a workshop with you!! I love your wedding pictures, they're always so amazing. Hopefully you'll have another one in the future & I can attend. :)
My bestest buddy Rachael Gapinski of Rachael Tyler Photography was in a bind a while back and needed me to shoot a reception for one of her couples, so I helped her out and shot Hannah and Landon’s reception at Aspen Landing Reception Center. They were an awesome couple and she was ecstatic the whole night. It was an awesome party and my awesome wife Tiffany came along to keep me company. Here were a couple of my favorite shots from the night.
So this year is the first year I’ve decided to enter a print competition and I need your help picking which images to enter into the WPPI print competition. The deadline for entry is 2/12 so I need to pick pretty soon and get these printed and entered. So please help me out by voting for your two favorite images. Make sure to tell your family and friends to vote too.
You can click on the image to enlarge it for better detail I know the thumbnails are kind of small.
January 30, 2010 - 6:24 pmAmy lashelle - whoo hoo good luck!!
January 30, 2010 - 7:04 pmchristina mack - always good work :) good luck! you'll totally win!
January 30, 2010 - 8:18 pmMarie - That is an amazing shot!!!
January 31, 2010 - 9:26 amMelissa Kelsey - One of the photojournalistic shots. The judges love that stuff. The others are wonderful, but they've seen that before. You just can't recreate real, heartfelt moments. Crying's always good, but the hugging bride one is pretty great.
January 31, 2010 - 3:44 pmTami M Cromar - Very nice! Hard to choose.
January 31, 2010 - 4:23 pmkat - You are an AWESOME photographer and know just when to snap a winning photo. Your style is uncomparable. Good luck
February 1, 2010 - 12:49 pmMelissa - Hard to pick favorites... I love the all; 1 is classic Izatt and number 6 is just so cool.
February 1, 2010 - 2:33 pmBrody Dezember - Hey D,
Something to keep in mind of when you go to print the photos you decided on. One thing that you do a lot of is push the contrast which results in some loss of the highlights. While that is sweet for your clients, judges tend to hit pretty hard for it. You need to find that fine line of high contrast and tons of details in the highlights and shadows.
The other thing you may want to remember is that they hit these prints with 2 - 250 watt lights at 45% degree angles so if they are close to blown out in the highlights just looking at them with normal lighting, then with the actual judges lights they will be washed.
I actually voted for 1 and 2 because to me they have the most impact and story telling in them.
Good luck!

So last week I shot engagements for Kellie and Brandon in Salt Lake City. These guys drove all the way up from Price Utah for the session Despite the freezing cold, these guys were troopers. I loved their outfit choices and I wish it wasn’t so darned freezing outside so we could’ve shot longer. Thanks so much to my bff Heidi for coming along and assisting me on the shoot.
January 12, 2010 - 9:02 pmKristen Duke - Great job, Dustin. THey look like they were having fun, despite the cold. I love the leaves in the first few.
January 12, 2010 - 9:44 pmjessica - Soooo cute Dustin. I always love your crisp, clean photos. You rock!
January 12, 2010 - 10:25 pmHeidi Walker - I don't get it, I was there and shooting with you and none of my shoots look this amazing. I totally think that cannon hooked you up with a rigged camera.....
They were such a fun couple! Thanks again for letting me come!
January 13, 2010 - 3:38 pmShannon - Oooh - love these! Fun, yet classy. :)

I absolutely LOVE The Veronicas. They have some killer music and they are one of my favorite artists to jog to. If you like this song, check out Untouched, Revenge is Sweeter Than You Ever Were, Goodbye To You, I Can’t Stay Away, and Someone Wake Me Up. Enjoy
January 21, 2010 - 8:22 pmJessica - Hey Dustin, it's me your stalker! haha jk. You're videos never work from youtube on your blog.
January 22, 2010 - 10:10 amBrody Dezember - If you like these guys you would really like The Barlow Girls. Anything on "Another Journal Entry" is pretty sweet. It is Christian Rock, but its really good and not preachy at all. :)

For the first time ever, I am offering a few of my favorite personal prints to be sold as limited edition prints in order to raise funds for my marathon and to support the LLS fund cancer research for Leukemia and Lymphoma. All the profit after cost of goods will be donated to the LLS and go towards my goal of $3000. To purchase, please email me which print and what print type you would like to purchase and I’ll update on the blog the number of prints remaining. I can accept a paypal payment or a credit card over the phone.
Each Print or Canvas will be personally signed and hand numbered and will only be sold up to the limited number. The prints sold will not have my logo on them, I only put the logo on for the blog post. Thanks so much for all of your support.

Eiffel tower night shot removed due to a copyright that I didn’t know existed. Apparently you can’t sell night time shots of the eiffel tower. I’ll find a replacement shot soon. See comments for more details.
Also, stay tuned because I will be announcing upcoming workshop dates to support the fundraiser as well as family mini-session dates. More info coming soon.

A few weeks ago I shot the wedding of Josh and Whitney with the help of my BFF Heidi of Heidi J Photography and my intern Alicia. It was a blast and Josh had us laughing all day long. Not only is he ridiculously good looking (said in the voice of Zoolander) but he is also very very funny. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple and had their reception at Wadley Farms. Here were some of my favorites from the day.

Today’s music video comes from The All-American Rejects with The Wind Blows. I fell head over heels in love with this song the first time I heard it. Then I watched the music video and fell even harder. I love the emotion of this song and the visuals in the video. But don’t take my word for it, push play below and tell me what you think?
