Just posted a video that shows you how to create an action that places your logo onto images and allows for batch processing for your blog posts. Here is the text transcript from the video with step by step instructions.

The first information you will need is the maximum width your blog will allow for photos. Mine happens to be 863 px wide.

Next, you will need to decide how you want to handle vertical images, do you want to post them side by side in groups to match the horizontal dimensions allowing for only one action being needed, or do you want to post them individually.

If you want to post them individually you will need to create two separate actions for placing your logo, one for horizontal images, the second for vertical images.

I chose to create all of my vertical images in templates that are identically sized to the horizontal dimensions so I would only need create one action and streamline my workflow.

So first thing I do is place all of my blog post images into a separate folder and drop them into indesign templates to create all horizontal files.

Next step is going to be create an action for placing your logo onto the image for your blog post.

First open up a horizontal image, then you will want to go to your action palette and create a new action, name it what you wish, then hit record.

Hit alt + command control + i to open the resize image box, type in your width, 863 for mine. then hit enter.

You can apply a sharpen action if desired,

Then the next few steps in italics are optional depending if you want to add a colored bar or not. If so

Command + J to duplicate the layer

Adjust opacity

Then go to File-Place and navigate to your logo, it’s very important that your logo stay in the same place because if it gets moved or deleted, this action will no longer work.

Then place your logo as desired and remember it will be placed in the same location every time you run this action.

Command + shift + E to flatten and hit stop.

You are now done and are able to batch run that action on your blog ready images

I had two awesome students at this workshop and we had a blast together all day. This is very useful when applying textures or adjusting certain colors to the photo without affecting skin tones.  One thing I love about layer masking is it’s so easy to fix things if you make a mistake by simply switching your brush color and just painting over the area that needs fixing.  you will see what I mean in the video.
