Ogden Marathon 2010 – The Beginning

As many of you know, I have always had the dream of running a marathon someday. Well it’s official, I am signed up to run a full marathon in Ogden on May 15, 2010. To be honest with you, I am terrified. I have always enjoyed running and find it very therapeutic. Back in high school I was very athletic and could jog non stop from the Layton/Kaysville border all the way to Clearfield with no troubles. 10 years later I could barely jog around the block. I have tried training for a marathon over the past 2-3 years by myself and always ended up in pain, discouraged, and ended up quitting. So when Tiffany heard about a marathon training program on X96, I went to the meeting for Team In Training.

Team in Training is an awesome sports training organization that helps raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS). That’s why I need your help and support. I am training to run for the Ogden Full Marathon in May and have set a goal to raise $3,000. Now let me introduce you to Toby, the adorable little boy that I’m sponsoring and who I’m running for. You can read his story HERE.

I am very excited because I began training and jogging again back on 11/10 of this year and I couldn’t even jog one mile all the way and I was in so much pain. In the past when training on my own, I would easily give up and never get past that one mile jog. Being on Team In Training has really helped me push through the pain though and I now have a purpose to run. I just completed a 4.5 mile jog this past Saturday with the Team and didn’t walk at all:)I still have a long way til the marathon and hope you will find it in your hearts to help support me in this great cause. Any donation is greatly appreciated and I will be announcing some VERY awesome and exciting fundraising opportunities in a future blog post. I will be hosting a full day workshop to be announced that will have half the fees donated to my fundraiser as well as some limited edition print sales and mini sessions as well:)So please check back often and donate what you can.
